📝 C1702 Variant Coding | Auto Detected Configuration | 2018 Hyundai Tucson
- Came with 4WD light only. Had no communication with 4WD module. After restoring communication, ABS and traction lights came on with C1702, variant coding.

Variant Coding
- If old SRS module is available, you can easily see ‘ECU Coding Code’ under ‘ECU Information’ menu.
- You can use that code to program a new module using Autel.
- Pay 19$ for info access.
- Go to Vehicle Info.
- Type VIN.
- ACU Code will be on the top of the list.
- New SRS Module needs to be programmed using “ACU/SRSCM variant coding”.
- It needs 4 letter coding code (e.g. SLM1) that matches your cars equipment.
- Go to https://www.kiatechinfo.com/search/vin_search.aspx?menu_id=414#
- B1620 SRS Module Internal Failure.
- B1684 ACU Configuration is different | 2018 Kia Soul
- Check SRS Unit part number and SRS Module ACU Coding, if they match the vehicle.
- A wrong buckle can also cause this code. Disconnecting offending component fixes B1684 code.
- Buckle Testing | 2003 Hyundai Tiburon
- 4 kΩ resistor between pin 1 (low) and 3 (signal/high).
- 4 kΩ +- 10% = belted
- 1 kΩ +- 10% = unbelted
