Intermittent Short to Ground

🚗 2001 Mazda B2300

  • Fuse #2 blows intermittantly, usually within 10 mins of driving.

🩺 Diagnostics

This fuse supplies power to

  • TCS Switch (on the steering lever)
  • A/C System
  • Backup Lights
  • Daytime Running Lights
  • SRS System

After doing a visual inspection on above mentioned systems and trying to establish some regularity about this intermittent shord, I noticed that fuse usually burns when I move the shiter into D.

Long story short, turns out the TCS Switch wire insulation has been rubbed through by the shift lever’s motion over time, shorting it to the ground. I belive its a common problem on these.

  •
  • Repaired the wire.
  • Done.
